I don't know why, but I find it hard to believe that only 50% of L.P. owners own a turntable to play them on. I understand collectors may not have one, but would they constitute 50% of owners?

I remember as a teenager, I saved up for a stereo and only after I got one did I start buying records.

Buying records without having a record player is like buying food you can't eat.

I don't know if it's a fad statement for the younger generations to just have this physically large artifact that's made the comeback and looks kinda cool. That they don't necessissarily want to invest in the equipment to play it. Or maybe some think that they can sell it at a profit because of the current popularity. It's good and bad for us true devotee's of the medium. Good that the revival is reaching youth's interests, bad that the products prices have increased with the popularity.

Maybe they're resellers. I suppose they could also be people who inherited a number of albums from relatives and are keeping them for their sentimental value, rather than a genuine desire to hear the music. That number still seems high to me, and I question its validity.

Hi, I share that thought. Who exactly did they poll?

Good Listening

I would like to know that too.

I suspect they just took sales records from across the states, or at least part of them, and gave those statistics a new name: Poll.

They took a poll of stats. Laughing

Maybe the record owners know someone who owns a stereo, so they go hang out from time to time. Maybe they just don't NEED to own a stereo.
