Naim has gotten much flack over the years for recommending a minimum length of speaker wire with purchase. Why do you think they do this?

It's very controversial, but they claim it affects the sound quality. I've read some of their arguments and it does sound like a rational conclusion, but so does the opposing side that claims it's all nonsense. Who knows?

To me, wire interconnects, speaker wire, power cords and even component hookup wire is fraught with the power of suggestion and myth. Step right up and buy some snake oil. Gear costs enough on it's own, buying these accessories that cost almost as much as the components it hooks up to is absurd to my mind.

I agree with Rusty on this one. I think it's just added nonsense, an added charge. I never bought into buying all the extra anyway. Of course that is just my opinion.

For older Naim amps, I think the output stages may not be total stable, so Naim prefer to use the speaker cable to provide the correct inductance and capacitance for output stability. If true, I would rather have the amp more stable, and not depend on the cable for amp stability.
