What have you been listening to heavily these days? Right now I've got Bob Dylan on heavy rotation, with Robbie Robertson and Tony Joe White pulling second and third.

How about you?

I have my whole vinyl collection in rotation. Some classical, some jazz and some good old rock-n-roll.

Right now, I'm spinning "Frampton Comes Alive."

Do you feel like we do? Cool

You guys will probably cringe at my tastes, but I'm currently working through my old collection of gangsta rap CDs that were my life in my teens and early twenties. I found them while looking for some old photos that were packed away. It's an odd experience. Adult me is horrified at the language, feminist me thinks it's a bunch of misogyny, and kid me still likes the beat. And since it's all so crass, I absolutely must wear my headphones so little ears don't hear it. I love them, but kid-free time is absolute bliss after being stuck at home for the past month.

I've made it through the N.W.A, Ice-T, and most of Dr. Dre. Not sure whether I should go with Tupac or Public Enemy next. Please don't judge me.

I hadn't listened to it in years. I had it stored apart from my most used records for some reason that now I can't figure. I'm going to have to go through the 'other' collection for something else I haven't given a spin in a long time.
Steely Dan, Goucho.

I'm a fan of that one too, especially the track "Playing the Game." I only have the anniversary release that came out in the early aughts instead of the original. You're the first person I've seen mention the group. I've tried getting friends into their music, but they've all balked and called it weird. No weirder than Pink Floyd or Linkin Park in my opinion. It's been a few months since I pulled their music out. I think I'll listen to it now.

@Madison No judgment, but I'm surprised by the choice.

Rusty's mention of Gaucho prompted me to bust out my copy. Then I played Aja too, back to back. Smile

As for Gentle Giant, I've been a fan of theirs since the early 1980s. A buddy of mine went to one of their concerts in Tulsa in 1980 or 1981, which was a really rare appearance. I was into "art rock" back then (and still am) - Genesis and Peter Gabriel and Yes - So Gentle Giant was right up my alley. I promptly went out and bought pretty much every album they had. It's very interesting music.

Yesterday, another cold spring day. Remedy. Platter Party. Made a fire in the fireplace insert. Fired up the bottles. And had a nice listen. A highlight was some jazz by the way out Jazz interplanetary messenger. Sun Ra & His Arkestra. One gone cat.

Dude, that's awesome!

My gear has been taken over by my mutants today. Lots of kiddos here, you know, mutating into adults or something vaguely resembling adults.
