I have a DP 35 with a Shure M97xE and it sounds ok but I'd rather have something a little nicer looking than the all plastic model. Thank you.

What about the 62l? Or the 52L?

I would love to have one but they are considerably more money than this model. I'm not familiar enough with Denon TT's to know which is the better model. I know that the double digit models get better as the numbers increase to the 62 but that's the extent of what I know Basically I'm looking for something that is quiet and looks halfway decent.

Are you looking for input or do you have your mind set on Denon tables?

Actually I'm open to about anything that will be better than what I have. What I have for equipment is a C-26 preamp and a MC-275 amp. The main speakers are Altec Valencias. I have thought about a basic Rega 3 or something like that but I know nothing about TT's. So I haven't rushed right out and bought one I'm not looking for absolute sound here, just decent sound.

Man; you have decent sound! Thats a nice Vintage system that probably plays music better than 95% of everything else out there.
There are; as I see it some good choices you could make if your budget is tight. You could try an older table like a Thorens with the crappy Thorens arm for now.
I like all of the 1600/1700/1800 Technics tables because they have the good arm and are built like tanks, very speed stable and troublefree. And they sound pretty good. You can get them off E-Bay for 150$ usually with a decent cartridge. They retain their re-sale value also.
If you wish to go new; the Rega is a good table but after paying full price you may hit the 450$ mark. And truthfully; the least expensive Rega probably doesn't sound any better than the Technics does. Maybe worse with worse wow and flutter specs.

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll start looking for something like that. I'm not a E-bay person. I watch CL a lot and with a TT I'd rather pick it up myself. Also than you for the system compliment. It's one reason I know little or nothing about anything else. After i bought that in the early 70's I was happy with the sound and never changed those items. I went through tape decks and TT's but kept the electronics & speakers. All I know about music & sound is what I like and don't like All the finer points of the hobby escape me

I don't know; I think those are the fine points. If buying off epay is not an option there are some pretty fair used dealers out there.
Turntable Factory has fair prices for Vintage Tables.

Ever hear of a Mitsubishi DP 52? Same letters and numbers as a Denon model. I couldn't find anything on Google about it.

Is that the model with the Tangential Tonearm? Big heavy black unit with an arm similar to the old Rabco?
