I bet some people spend a fortune on the equipment, but if the content is poor and the hosts aren't charismatic or interesting, then I doubt even a million dollar setup will help them succeed.

True! It's a waste of equipment for sure if their content won't interest the public. Their topics aren't the only important thing because people wouldn't even bother if the podcaster isn't engaging.
