i just bought an old pioneer pl 516. I didnt have a belt so i bought a replacment. Table seems to be in good condition. Anyway....i throw a 33 on there and it sounds like alvin and the chipmunks. Ive never owned a turntable so i dont know if im doing something wrong. i have it set at 33rpms. i have the pitch set as slow as possible but the record still plays fast. What can i do here? is this fixable?

ah...forget it. i figured out the problem. the belt was wrapped too high around the platter and the belt kept slipping halfway off the spindle.
