I have heard of animals being treated to some music to help them relax. Have you ever noticed your pet liking, or disliking a particular song?

I once had a dog that would go nuts with surround sound effects. Otherwise no.

Good Listening

My dog barks when I pause a movie or turn down the radio volume when in the car. I think that pets (in general) have an ear for sound. I have never heard of music being used to calm down a pet.

A few years ago I bought a CD that was supposed to relax dogs. It was recommended by my vet because my pup hated going so much. Playing the music made the car ride a little easier, but I don't think it made a difference once we were ready to go in.

I have a cat and I have noticed many times that she runs and hides every time I play heavy metal. I have heard about therapeutic music for animals but I am not sure which one is suitable for cats.

When I've dog-sat and cat-sat, I didn't like leaving them with the house and neighborhood quiet. I would leave on the TV or one of the YouTube channels for pets.
