Is there a possibility that a smartphone could be configured to connect to more than one speaker? I once read somewhere that there are certain devices that have this capability. Wouldn't this compromise the quality of sound produced?

You can use an app like AmpMe to connect to multiple bluetooth speakers. Your smartphone acts as the receiver and simultaneously transmits the sound to every speaker you've synced up with.

Most Samsung branded phones have a dual audio feature that should do what you're asking. I'm not sure if it affects sound as I've never tried it.
