Speakers are typically used for emitting sound from something pre-recorded. But is there anything on the market like stereo speakers used to play back the sounds you get when you "bug" somebody's house?

Your plan seems shady. However, there are pin-sized microphones where it can be attached to clothes or curtains and can transmit the recording or sound through Bluetooth. You can then just play it on any speaker device that is connected to the microphone through Bluetooth.

Hi, All speakers (just the raw driver not the electronics) except possibly ones that need to have external power sources can be used to pick up sounds. Some better than others but really they all can act just like big microphones. That is how many intercoms work.

Good Listening

I would have thought that any speakers would do. They wouldn't have to be specialist ones for that particular job.

I think if you are thinking of bugging somewhere, (ooh, naughty!), it would be the microphones that would have to be specialist, not the speakers. Once you have got the recording, (tut tut), you could play it on any system.

Just out of purely academic interest, what make and model of mikes would you use for this purpose?
