I've seen some cool looking workstations where people have mounted their amps underneath their desks. Would there be any downsides to doing this? Other than saving space, are there any benefits? I've also read that there should be enough room for airflow between the top of the amp and the desk. How much space do you think is necessary?

Hi That would depend on the amp. If it is a class D one then probably nearly no clearance is needed as they put out little heat. If it is a large class A tube amp...then at least 6 inches all around and IMO I would not put one there in the first place. I have put PCs under the desk on occasion...but with plenty of clearance ...especially around the back where many have fans.

Good Listening
