How hard would that be? For instance, a car radio. You buy one that has red LED lights, but you prefer green. Is it even possible to change them?

Hi, You can change them only by replacing them. In some gear that would be easy. In a car radio a nightmare. Size and ease of getting to them is the issue. Most LEDs used for this application use about the same amount of current (1-10 milliamperes) but do vary in the voltage need. Some as low as 1.4 volts and other colors as high as around 3.5 volts. The various colors are related to the materials used in the LED and are specific to the voltage needed. In something like a car radio they could well be surface mounted on a board and not something even I would mess with. In a piece of consumer gear like an amplifier they are likely to be more typical ones with leads. These could be changed if you have decent soldering skill.

Good Listening
