My little cousin needs an amp for his guitar, but he doesn't need anything too fancy. Any recommendations for some cheap ones that work good?

I'm not sure what price point you're hoping to stick with, but here are two suggestions. What about this one from Blackstar?
https://www.amazon.com/Blackstar-ID-1-Channel-Amplifier-Built/dp/B06WRVF636/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504483389&sr=8-1&keywords=Blackstar+ID%3A+Core+10+V2
It's under $100 and has some cool built in effects that your cousin can experiment with.

There's also this Fender Mini.

It's a well known brand and is priced at $30, so it's affordable.

Your cousin might check the classifieds and Craigslist to find a better deal.

I'm wanting to get an amp for my nephew for Christmas and these are some great ones to choose from. Thanks for the wonderful suggestions and I'm sure he will be happy!

I checked those out, and those are some great looking amps for that price. I was wondering, though if there aren't like different types that you could choose from, and how do you know if you got the right one for your cousin's needs?
