The international space station has orbited the earth 100,000 times as of the 16th of this month. That's a pretty impressive feat if you think about it. Here's the story:

That is impressive. It's also very interesting. How much longer before they put another one out there twice as far.....and then another.....and then another. This would make it a far more realistic goal of getting to Mars.
