I just recently had a bookshelf built around my fireplace where the speakers for my home theater sit. I've had to put those speakers inside of that bookshelf since I don't have the room for stands. Does anyone know if I should put felt or rubber pads on the speakers to isolate the sound?

As far as I know you don't need to spend a fortune on special things to get the best results from speakers on a bookshelf. I don't know how much those special silicone things they sell for this purpose are, but a piece of felt works just as well IMHO.
