Do you listen to audiobooks? I know a lot of people like to listen to them during commutes or road trips but I just can't get into them myself.

Kind of. There is a writing podcast I listen to sometimes, and the ladies always read a book, or parts of a book, and then critique it on every podcast.

What do you call the person who reads the book for the recording? Is it the narrator? The reader? The voice actor? Uh, I think whether an audiobook is decent or unbearable largely rests on that particular role. I hate it when the person uses different voices unless it's a kid's book.

No thanks. I have to put my nose in a book. I don't want someone else reading for me.

I have before when I was driving alone on a long road trip. It made the time go by much faster. I would listen to a few chapters and then listen to music. Switch back and forth often throughout the trip.

I am not a big fan either. I would rather pick up a paperback book any day. I must say that I am not a fan of reading books on a Kindle or device either. I have tried to listen to audio books on long drives but I just didn't get into them.

Audiobooks aren't my thing, even when I have a knack for listening to podcasts. It lacks engagement as I often find myself lost in thought and not understanding any of it. I tried it because I wanted to rest my eyes for a change, but it appeared like a waste of time.

I've liked some audiobooks because of the narrator's voice clarity and diction, whereas some only made me sleepy. I wouldn't prefer listening to books that are difficult to track concerning content.

You can like audiobooks depending on the narrator, but generally, it's hard to follow even if they say that you can multitask with it. If I'll have to focus while listening, then it's not true that I can do other things with it. It might be better to read a book at my own pace.
