I've read where the lifespan of a videotape is about 20 years. However, I have some that are more than 25 years old and still work fine. Any reason for the conflict in assessment?

Hi, I have many that old they are fine. Storage conditions are quite important as well as having a decent brand to start with.

I store mine on a transformer. It gets a little hot but isn't too magnetic. Laughing

Haha, I hope no one takes you guys seriously or they're in for a world of hurt! Razz I got rid of my videotapes a long time ago so I couldn't tell you how long they might have lasted.
