Here is an old review of the SME Series V Tonearm. It was originally published in 1986 and they just reran it on Stereophile's site. I'd be interested to know if the Series V is still a relevant tonearm, or if it's fallen by the wayside.

All SMEs are relevant and command equally relevant prices. It seems the II and III are the ones of choice though.

Good Listening

I don't know much about tonearms. What makes the II and III better than the V?

I wonder why they reran the review in Stereophile.

Hi, Check out the posts on them at vinylengine.com It may be a quality issue or just cost, but none of the SME are cheap. That's why I use Origin Live arms. A step down, but less costly. Now when I get rich and famous.......

Good Listening
