A local radio station that was popular in our city between 1990 and 2000 was losing its listening audience to a new popular music station has decided to go DJ less. They now play non-stop pop music with ads inserted here and there. I have a feeling this is going to become a trend, which is too bad since I like the back and forth between the DJs.

As more and more people move away from listening to radio I think our favorite stations will all change or fade away. They are losing money to kids who listen to MP3s and adults who've discovered satellite radio.

I still love listening to radio in the morning and my favorite station's DJs are awesome. They play off of each other and it sounds natural and entertaining. I would be really sad if they took them off the air.

I think there is a place for both. Occasionally I like to listen to DJ banter, but I also really enjoy Jack FM, which does not employ DJs. I usually just want to listen to music, not talk.

Hi, My preference most of the time is no DJ. The exception is on the XM "coffee house" station that has a lot of new artists and then I want to know who they are.

There are good and bad things about using this concept. The good is that you don't have DJ's chattering over parts of a song, while the bad is that it just makes for a homogenized experience.
