A friend of mine is getting married next month and asked me to take care of music stuff for him. I agreed, but I don't really know much about pro equipment. What kind of setup should I be looking into and where should I be looking?

You should probably be looking into DJ equipment if you actually plan to DJ yourself. You could look into businesses that will rent everything out including the DJ, though. I think I read somewhere that you can rent a DJ (and he'll bring his own equipment out) for less than a grand.
