Would you buy whole audio units, like home stereo's for example, or parts from China? I know China is making headway in this field, but are they tried and true enough for you to invest your money in these types of products?

Hi, This probably belongs in Tower, but I'll answer it here. The short answer is yes and no. The Chinese can make extremely high quality stuff, but it is the market place that determines what they tend to sell. Just like everyone else. We collectively want inexpensive things. Such this will not be of the highest possible quality. We get what we ask for. Fortunately, there are some countries and companies that make high quality stuff in the hopes it will sell. Some succeed some do not. So in the end if something I want is made well, I really don't care much where it comes from. I prefer though given a choice of equals to buy American.
I would have to read consumer reviews from fellow audiophiles before I make the leap to Chinese. I know what I like and I know what's comparable to that, so if the Chinese can't make it, I'm not going to buy it. Same for any other country.
