Please either give me suggestions or refer me to a source for information.

I am trying to replace my 1969 Heathkit stereo receiver. I have found few stereo receivers at reasonable prices. I was going to purchase a Onkyo TX-8050 which has a phono input. I will be using a Technics SL-BD22 turntable. Will this work? I have read some reviews that indicate that I will need a preamp for some turntables. Any guidance or help will be gratefully received.

Thank you

Hi, The specs show that it is equipped for MM phono input. SO unless you have what is known as a low output moving coil cartridge you will be fine. If you let us know what the cartridge is we can verify that it is OK.

Good Listening
