Over the years we have had a lot of new music come out of our city. I believe it is important to support local bands in their quest to get their music to a larger venue. There is a lot of undiscovered talent out there and if a band does not have a wide audience it's hard for them to get their foot in the door of this industry.

Unlike years ago where luck and knowing someone was the only way to become well-known, now Twitter and Facebook help bands to bring their music and talent out to the masses. If my daughter likes an area band she will post positive comments to Twitter and Facebook as well as re-tweet comments and videos made by these bands.

Support local talent in your area.
