Sometimes the indoor air handler of my central air conditioning unit emits a very high-pitched, low volume hum. I can't figure out a pattern to it as I only notice it occasionally. Do you think it's something I should be worried about?

Hi, Only if it interferes with serious stereo listening. Laughing

Depending on what it is there could be issues. HVAC systems tend to make various noises all the time. Often nothing to be worried about. If the unit gets noisier or does it more often then I would consider getting it checked out.

Also, it will make a difference if you are the only one who can hear it. Laughing

I'm sorry. Aren't we a bunch of smart uh, donkeys, on here!

Probably it's nothing. But be smart. Pay attention if it gets louder or more frequent.

If you can isolate exactly where the noise is coming from, that might help. It could be as simple as air squeezing through some place that's not tightly sealed.

Yes, you guys are super helpful. Razz

I've only heard it a couple times. It sounds electrical rather than whistling air. I'll just keep an eye on it for now in case it gets worse or more frequent, as you suggested.
