Sometimes the audio randomly drops while I'm watching a movie. I might lose it completely, but more frequently dialog is gone and I only hear it faintly through bleed into other channels. What gives?

I'm not sure. My guess is it's either the player or something's up with your receiver (helpful, I know). Have you noticed any patterns? For instance, does it only happen during a loud scene?

No, I haven't noticed any patterns. It actually hasn't happened in awhile. Maybe it was a loose connection that my husband fixed while messing around with the theater system.

Yes, I would guess it was a loose connection with your center channel. Usually dialog only comes through the center channel. Some bleed into other channels is not unusual.

A loose connection would have been my guess too. We had this problem when we first got our new home entertainment system, and we finally figured out the kids were jiggling the wires!
