We've had our home theater system up and running for a while now but we finally got around to mounting the speakers on the wall for better sound. The only problem is, now there are wires hanging down from the speakers to the receiver and I hate the way it looks. What can I do to hide those wires?

I think Home Depot and Lowe's both sell cord management products. Basically, you just gather all the cords together and then place a piece of plastic over them. You can even paint the piece to match the color of your wall so it blends in better, or leave it white so it looks like wall trim.

...Or run them through the walls, and install wall plates at each end for connections.

If you are sure everything is placed the way you want it to remain, running cables through the walls is the way to go. It's a bit of a pain but it looks better. If you like to rearrange things, though, the cable hiders are a better bet.

We rearrange things too often to run cables through the walls, so we opt for the cable hiders. They are definitely not as attractive though.
