According to this article the outage earlier this week was because of a change to their DNS infrastructure. I guess I got lucky this time because mine never went down.
Well it's good to hear that it was something technical yet simple. There were rumors going around that it was hacked. I don't do Facebook that often but I do know people that were probably going through withdrawals while it was down.
