Gik is now offering scatter plates in their absorption panels. The scatter plates are basically wooden slats with spaced slots. Have you used or made something similar?

I find that bookshelves work amazingly well for this purpose. The books being varying sizes provide a randomized scattering effect. And their paper provides natural damping. So I have a bookshelf in my living room that spans the entire long wall behind the listeners.

I never thought about bookshelves working like a scatter plate, but it makes sense. Fortunately I have quite a few bookcases in my living room already.
