Wayne,

I built your Theater 4Pi speakers about a decade ago to run with some low-powered tube amps. I still love the setup for music, but I'm looking into building a theater space now, and these speakers will just plain be too big. That being said, I've got a couple of questions.

1. Could you please send me the plans for the new 4Pi?

2. How will the new speakers sound compared to my venerable Theater 4Pi's?

3. I'm interested in the upgraded drivers, but I'm not sure if it will be worth the added cost in a system that will be used about 90% HT, 10% music. Any thoughs on this?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

You've got mail!

The current four π loudspeaker has always been in the line, but at one time it was called the Professional Series four π (with JBL drivers) or the Stage Series four π (with Eminence drivers).

Both the Stage and Professional Series speakers have similar directity and tonal balance as the Theater Series did. But they handle more power and offer lower distortion, so I think you'll be pleased with the upgrade.

I would definitely recommend the upgraded drivers if you can swing them. Also be sure to use flanking subs.
