I'm curious... what are you favorite "popular music" CDs / artists / tracks to test your sound system out?
NOTE: Not test CDs with sine waves and Left-Right vocals and sound effects, but stuff you actually enjoy listening to.
Here are a few of my go-to recordings, off the top of my head, that I usually wind up getting sucked into:
- David Byrne - anything - full delicate and lively dynamic range
- Metallica - anything - hard-hitting and lively
- David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust - clarity and detail and liveliness
- Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Ecstasy - vocals and creative use of the full range
