I managed to dent a dust cap on one of my 2226H drivers.
Should I worry about? Is it just cosmetics or the dent can actually affect the sound?

thank you

I'd replace it. Not only will it bug you because of the cosmetics, but upper midrange is radiated by the cap so it may affect the sound.

Send it to David Miller at Speakerworks. In fact, send him both woofers. He can replace the stock cap with one that is a little bit stronger and still measures the same. It resists dents better, and doesn't cost much at all to do. I always recommend genuine JBL recones with this one exception - I like the aftermarket voice coil caps.

They're like ten bucks, just nothing. It will cost more to ship than to repair.
