Wayne,

What wood do you use for the 12PI Knock down wood? Looks like Baltic Birch Ply?

Also,

I've got a future project in mind to build a pair of 4PI for home use... Is the 12Pi too much sub for these speakers in a home setting?

Thanks,
Andy

The 12π hornsub (and flatpack kit) is made using five sheets of 19mm baltic birch, all CNC cut.

For home hifi, it is extreme overkill. I'd prefer using a pair of three π subs flanking the mains and another pair in the opposite corners of the room. That way you'll smooth room modes as well as gain extension, and you just really don't need the brute force or size of the hornsubs.

Now then, if you're trying to drive a stadium, that's a different story entirely...
