What's included in the kit?

The woofer, the port, a cable assembly with the connector panel, the logo decal and a printed copy of the plans.

The woofer is your OEM version of the Lab 12?

What amp are you using? Internal plate or something else?

Low level from the pre-amp or high?

Yes, it's my PI-12 woofer, an OEM version of the LAB12 machined to fit the cooling plug. For the three Pi subs, you could use either driver just as well.

I'm using a pair of those Selectronic 50W Class-A FET amps. Plate amps work great too, and are probably more convenient 'cause they bolt on the back.

I use my little passive preamp - that remote control circuit I made for the DIY and kit amp crowd - and split off the outputs to the amp for the mains and to the crossover for the subs.

So 50W is sufficient for these subs.

I'm assuming then that something like this...

(500W Plate Amp)

would be complete overkill?

Thanks

Tim

That's a great size amp for subs like these. I run a 50 watt amp and it's plenty, but naturally it leaves a lot on the table, unused. They'll take a lot more than that.
