The CALM Act, which mandates that commercials be at the same volume as TV shows, will finally be enforced at the end of 2012. I cannot wait. Knowing my luck, though, the end of the world will come first. Laughing

In general, I hate having new laws on the books but this is one thing I'll be glad to see. I wonder why the FCC couldn't regulate that already though.

Hey I'm not Fred! Razz

I don't know why the FCC couldn't regulate it, Wayne, but I wonder if money changed hands somewhere and it wasn't in the FCC's best interest to regulate. Maybe I'm just being paranoid though.

That's great news! It's an incredible hassle to keep switching volumes during commercial time, especially when you've reached that perfect volume level while watching tv and you spend five minutes finding it again. (Our TV is connected to the speakers which uses a knob and not the simple up down with numeric values for volumes so that makes it extra hard for us.) Hope they can regulate it properly!

Joanne! xx

This is the best news I heard all day! I hate it when I'm watching TV at night, and a super loud commercial comes on making me freak out thinking that I'll wake everyone. With the volume staying the same, I won't have to worry about that anymore. This makes me very happy.
