What is the general consensus for recording/performing with a bass drum with the resonant head sealed versus a vented head? Typically, I hate it when a drummer chops a big hole in the front of their drum head, but sometimes, if it is vented properly, it can enhance certain frequencies. Still, I prefer a sealed one to match the resonance patterns of the other drums (assuming they are all double headed and not vented).
