should the fronts of the cabinet be between the sides or on the face so the sides are hidden. Or does it not make any difference

I always put the face and rear over the sides, with the tops and bottom inside all four. I think it's structureally stronger, easier to glue-up without fasteners, and especially, the top and bottom pieces help square the glue-up. On top of that, if you cut 3 extra top and bottom pieces per cabinet, you have ready made, exact size braces.

Thats an excellent idea the braces would be the same size. thanks for replying. I just came home with the would today. I found some 5/8 shelving panels already veneered for less than 14.00 and there 96 inch long.

I agree with Bill Epstein; the front should over the sides. For super easy glue-up of the front and rear panels, I used biscuits. Everything lined up quickly providing me ample time to install clamps and wipe glue drips.index.php?t=getfile&id=544&private=0
