What speaker wire gauge do you generally use?

I have to run some relatively longer lengths for my rear surround speakers so I use 14 gauge wire.

The longer the run, the larger wire you'll need.

14 guage is fine up to about 150 feet for an 8Ω speaker.

Hi, I use 14 gauge as well. I like to keep the wires fairly short - under 10 feet long. Some folks may cringe Evil or Very Mad , but I use some from Monster. Two types - a flat pair variety and a CL3 rated for use inside the wall ( I don't put it in the wall though). Both are braided supposed to be oxygen free copper.

I have some Pyramid 14 gauge. I find it works well for all instances. I have a couple of different length cut. I use one for day-to-day and the long wires for when I entertain outside.
