I'm not sure. Hope people will chime in and introduce themselves. I know some rooms have several companies represented, others have just one. I also have a feeling that not all rooms are in this list, for example, where's Polk Audio? So we'll update the list as more information comes in.

Hi Wayne, So much for requesting adjacent rooms Sad . 213 and 228 don't sound like they are next to each other. I'll raise a fuss when I get in tomorrow. This will cut back what we can do a bunch.

Good Listening

Tony Landry in 226 is a Houston Audio Society friend. I'll call him tomorrow and ask if he'll swap rooms with you.

Yes, I noticed they did that to Uriah as well. I suggest calling the hotel right now and seeing if they wouldn't mind changing rooms. You could also do it at checking time, but it doesn't hurt to call in advance.

In fact, I'll write them right now and ask that when someone has more than one room, that they get adjacent rooms. That way, they'll have a heads-up and probably by the time you call it will be a fait accompli.

Once we get into our rooms and start getting settled, please write back so we can update the room list.

Hi Wayne, I did call and they gave me what amounted to a "too hard to fix answer" Confused . They said I could have a pair on the 5th floor. Ugh when everyone is on the second, a non-starter for me. Thanks for anything you might accomplish. I expect to be in about 3-4 PM. We're in Big Spring now. Rodney will be in a bit later (by air).

Good Listening

That's complete BS on their part. My wife worked in the hotel industry for 5 years and it's a simple fix, especially where most of the attendees are on the same floor and have only one room. If no one is checked in yet, then it's a simple matter of switching room numbers in the computer. Takes all of 5 minutes.

Wayne, I would call the hotel, if you haven't already, and ask nicely for them to accommodate those who have already reserved more than one room since the LSAF has a track record there.

I sent them an email asking for everyone that has reserved more than one room to make them adjacent rooms at check-in time. It can't be any trouble at all, because both Uriah and Bruce are in rooms that are next to other LSAF exhibitors. All the hotel staff has to do is swap them before check-in, and I told them to do that. No big deal. They're pretty good to us.

The thing I'm a little more concerned about are the folks that have made reservations but that didn't get recorded as being with LSAF. It's OK to do that - no problem getting the room "outside" the LSAF block - but I do want us all grouped together as much as possible. They'll do that if they know the person reserving the room is part of LSAF, but might not if they don't.

I got an email from Scott at Advanced Home Theater saying he was planing to be here. But I don't see him on the list, so I'm wondering where they'll put him. And I don't see Russ Gates listed either, the Polk Audio representative. So I wonder where they'll be and I wonder how many other rooms we have like that.

You always have to make sure Embassy Suites knows you're part of LSAF! It's not just important to get the room rate, it's also important to make sure we're all grouped together. So if you're planning to be here and don't see your name on the list - please be sure to contact the hotel immediately and tell them you're part of LSAF!
