I trust my country, and believe whole heartedly that Osama has been eliminated. However, even people I respect keep saying that this was just too convenient especially when they just disposed of the body at sea. Are they going to show us proof? Should we just believe and be happy?

No, you should never be happy with a complacent government that provides unsatisfactory answers.
It's been reported many times by many sources that he had died around 2001-2002. He physically couldn't have survived much longer than that even if that was all lies or made up.
