The need: fill a 12x24' foot room (separated by a partial wall into two 12x12' rooms) with a lot of volume for a DJ studio/practice pad. The music is mostly house/techno so bass is an important requirement.

the budget: small (a few hundred at first, maybe more later)

amps: TBD

fabrication ability: beginner, low

looking at the complexity and cost of the speakers, the two pi towers mated to a sub looks like the best option. higher numbers seem a bit out of the fabrication skill level and budget.

so basically, my question is: will the two pi towers and sub fill a 12x12 room with almost ear bleeding volume and controlled/loud bass? and then maybe another pair to take care of the second 12x12 eventually?

also how difficult is the build for the two pi? is it simply a box or is there more to it inside? how about the sub?

The two π tower is a great speaker for bedroom systems and apartments, and it plays plenty loud. But if you're going to really push the pedal to the metal, I suggest stepping up to the three π or four π speakers with subs.
