Have any of you used bluetooth with your stereo system? I just found out that my stereo has bluetooth capabilities, but I haven't figured out how to work it yet. Is there a significant lag or a change in sound quality?

Wireless has always been a step down in quality.

I have no idea about bluetooth specifically. If it a 100% digital signal, it couldn't possibly be losing quality, but if it has to convert analogue to digital and then back again to get the correct signal to speakers you are losing quality that way.

I'd have to know more, but it looks like unless you are putting a digital input into the amplifier and the amplifier is broadcasting that exact signal and the speakers are the only thing doing D/A conversion, you are losing something somewhere. That is assuming Bluetooth is digital.

If it is analogue, just forget it. A lot of musicians switched to wireless and switched back at some point when they realized the dip in quality.

seems to be all digital. So unless the speakers are doing the ONLY D/A conversion, it is a loss.

It's not a very high-end one, but here is the model information. It's a Yamaha RX-V365. I thought it would be neat if I could just stream the music from my laptop, but I think it would work out better if I just plugged it in directly.
