Also do you remove the paper back on the insulation even for top and sides or just the brace?

Remove the vapor barrier (paper backing) from the insulation before installing it. That goes for wall linings as well as the cross-section piece.

As for wood filler, we really want guys like Epstein to chime in here because they do more woodworking than I do. I know there are purpose-made wood fillers that I'd rather use to fill a hardwood, but I'm not sure that's the best for MDF. I can't imagine you'd go wrong with that stuff though.

I've used auto body filler for small areas of MDF and it worked well. Make sure the area is clean. Smile

A little more progress, got the braces in and wiring set up. Decided to finish in a walnut veneer.

The wife wanted a dark finish, so i give you dark walnut Pi4!

The baffle is a Duratek black crinkle finish, I like it. Might have to touch it up a little after all is said and done.
