I find it amazing that the so-called "audible range" is true not to all but to 99.9% of the human population. A small fraction -- 0.1% -- can detect sound below and above the audible range. Even so, most of us sense the change in music quality when sound outside of the audible range is edited out.
This is perhaps why judging whether a music is good or not continues to be a subjective, not scientific, affair.
