I've noticed that one challenge with recording at home is that the room is rarely quiet, as many of us would want. There are issues of traffic, computer humming or siblings or friends moving around the house.

That means that even a good microphone can pick up unwanted noise if the place where one is recording is not properly managed.

Some of my friends say that they like dynamic microphones like Shure SM58 and MV7 because they perform better in such environments. However, I think getting it with the mic is not the ultimate solution as distance, mic placement, and room treatment are factors to consider. So, I would like to know what really worked for you when you recorded in places where the background noise was much?
