I have a RT-909 with a 7.5 speed problem - way too slow...3.75 is fine, but 7.5 almost runs the same as 3.75. Help anyone? Very Happy

Mine did that too. It was a two-fold problem for me: The pinch roller was gummy and needed to be replaced. Check that - it's pretty common - If the roller feels tacky to the touch, it must be replaced. However, mine also needed an adjustment. I was lucky though - I'm told that the motors are fairly common failure modes and I'm not sure you can get those anymore. Do a search here for "Pioneer" because there are lots of posts about this unit.

Thanks, Wayne. I'll check the pinch rollers, but I think they are new. What kind of adjustment did yours need? I'm told by local repair that it is probably a problem on the DC board at a cost of $250.

Mine was a "speed adjustment", but since they're DC motors, it may be the same thing your shop is talking about.

For me, whenever I've had problems with speed issues, that's usually the first place I check. Go with the easiest and cheapest fixes first.
