Built during 13th, 14th and 15th century, Turks conquested it 1543, and leaved 1687. Although it has various owners through 18th and 19th century, city gradually ruined, like all local towers damaged/burned in those wars, and never really fixed. Pitty, it was a very large one, with tens of rooms, multiple walls, even with its own chapel...

The first shot is beautifull. You caught the light just right. What is there castles every couple miles around there?

Well, yes... it`s only a disadvantage that they are mostly destroyed.
In the west part of Croatia (never under the Turks) there`re more retained burgs.
Here`s one 18th century castle (restored), a few km from "Little Rose" tower...photo from today, too.

Nice; looks like that new mansion Billy Joel is building in the Hamptons.

Those are really awesome photos. I hope one day to vacation there and see the castles and countryside in person.

You are welcome. many European cities with old centers are museums on the open and work of art. But, I found that you must have a lot of good will and condition for the tour...
Those places on my pictures are actually not easy to reach (hiking!), and generally - not known enough, even for local people...
