No sign of the hardcore reactionaries who populated this forum last few months. It's damned hard to be wrong; and to be wrong at the top of your voice;..well thats real tough. Thank god for the GS 18's in the Government service with their protected pensions and union. They are the white knights getting these greedy and criminal players; and only because they are safe from retribution.
Oh how the mighty tremble before a pensioned and protected minor government servant with a fearless and honest agenda. Hear that Tom?
They are like kryptonite to guys like Delay.
American Heroes.
So I dedicate this song to Tom:

"I Fought The Law;
And The Law Won!."

The Bobby Fuller Four; thats the original artists that recorded that song back in the 60's. I think I have a copy on 45 rpm vinyl. Bobby Fuller ended up dead of a gunshot wound I believe. Very Ironic.

Thanks for the info, I knew it`s a older song, but not the author. Well, the only `60s music I listen to - early VU, Stooges and Zappa...

Hi Bud; I just wanted to get some kudo's in to the hardworking drones at justice deep in the bowels of the beuracracy who unearthed the web of connections existing between that used car salesman Abromoff and Delay; who should hang good and proper like in the old west for spouting all that nonsense about reforming the party while schemeing to defraud the voters of their right to honest representation.
There is no more heineous crook than one who hides behind the mantle of reform and honesty in government.
Whatdya think?

If DeLay took bribes, he should convicted and thrown out of office, just like anyone else.

The problem with political bribery is that it's very hard to prove -- because it's so similar to what every politician does every day. Why does any organization -- whether it's the teachers' unions or Microsoft -- give $$ to politicians? With the expectation that the donation will make it more likely that the politician will support their position. That is perfectly legal. Improper bribery is the simply the formalization of that expectation into an explicit understanding.

Few politicians are stupid enough to cross that line, if only because it's unnecessary to do so. There are plenty of ways for a politician to signal that he'd be willing to consider voting for something, whether it's legislation favorable to Indian casinos or teachers' unions, without entering into a formal quid pro quo agreement. So I wouldn't get too excited yet.

I know; I have learned from the past how slippery these guys are. How about putting his wife on a no-show job at 3k a month and the illegal re-districting?
Without getting to involved in the details it seems his non-profit charity that he participates in seems to have one beneficiary; him. Thats the slimey part.
