Bill brought up the issue of Mad Cow in America's beef. Wednesday night, I heard an interview with Howard Lyman who said that America had been extremely lax in checking its beef for years, and the difference in quality control between America and other countries may be the only reason it hasn't been detected before now. In short, he said that there was some reason to believe that it may have been here all along, and that we just don't know it.

Then again, I'm probably still not going to slow down on the steaks or anything. What about you?
