Hello

I see that the Alpha 8 is used on your Pi ones, but I have been very tempted by the Beta 8's, with its higher power handling. How do these two drivers compare soundwise. They both have an extended response, though the Beta looks more linear, the Beta also has a lower Fs. I have seen the Beta used in a similar way to the Pi one, so I would apprecate your advice.

Thanks

Roy

For a while I used the Beta 8 and 10, but prefer the Alpha series. So I stopped using Betas.

Okay, that is fair enough, but what were the sonic differances, etc, that changed your mind ?

The Betas sound thin to me. That's subjective, I know but in the end, that's why I chose Alphas over Betas. I used to make speakers with them. They're not bad at all. But I do prefer the Alphas to the Betas, personally.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Like I said, they aren't bad. It's probably six one way and half dozen the other, but I liked the Alphas better, myself. If you give the Betas a try, write back and let us know what you think. They're inexpensive enough you can try both.
