Pipedreams had a rebroadcast of one of their shows on last
night from the public radio here.

I use the show regularly to listen to the speakers I'm toying
with.

But this particular show is, well it's _cool._

It's a selection of pop tunes played on theater organs, the most
famous of which (I guess) is The Mighty Wurlitzer. We thinm of
organ music often as weird, creepy, for funerals and of course
as a wedding march.

The pure pleasure in this is being transported for instance
to a pizza restaurant in Texas (or Arizona) where the organ is
featured as entertainment.

Nowhere but on Pipedreams can you find this stuff.

It's just about perfect for listening on a summer afternoon like
this.

Looks really interesting. I'm going to try it later (nobody's up and I've got the audio muted). Thanks.

Really: no better way to test the speaks on those low notes from
a natural environment as opposed to a tone generater or something.

People _are_ spooked by organ music though. I oncve had a guy in the
cabs that, upon hearing the organ recital I had on made me change it.

I did. I'm not militant about it. Not as militant as, say,
Lawrence University in the town where I live who refused to
let Frank Zappa take a turn at their King Of Instruments at
the performance chapel. But that was long ago. After listening to
Pipe Dreams for some time now, I've learned that there are a large
number of these things around. It's sort of like playing a
steam engine I'd think.
