Wayne, would the Aurum Cantus G2Si work as a supertweeter with the 4 Pi speakers? Parts Express has them on sale for $60.

Yes, it should work. If you're planning it as an add-on, with no crossover changes, then crossover high, like above 8kHz.

Which, of course, brings up the next question:

What do I need to crossover around 8kHz)? (I have no experience in this area)

I did that with my Theater 3Pi's using the Fountek equivalent of the G2Si. The ribbon added a clearly audible element of "air" that I don't hear with just the horn tweeter. It's especially audible with cymbals, etc. I used a second order crossover with a 1.0uF Audiocap Theta and a Dayton 0.2mH 20ga air core shunt inductor. But be warned, that added "air" makes the speaker sound more like all those expensive "high end" speakers (Wilsons, etc.) that WOW you when the salesperson plays a reference quality SACD on a $10K player, but can sound harsh and fatiguing with most CD's that aren't recorded especially well.

Master
A second order 8KHz xover (w/110+ phase on the driver).

C = 1.5uF (series)
L = 0.47mH (paral.)

LPad (without it, it will be to loud)
R1= 1.5 Ohms (series) NI
R2= 20 Ohms (shunt) NI

or a little less damping (about +1dB)
R1= 1.0/0.6/ Ohms NI
R2= 20 Ohms NI

Note: This is assuming that the driver output is linear and sensitivity is the same between speaker drivers.
This is not final. Wayne?
Good luck!

Sounds like a good plan. I'd give it a go.
